Wall Mounted Sauna Heaters

Wall Mounted Sauna Heaters

Wall-Mounted Electric Sauna Heaters

Wall-mounted sauna heaters attach to the wall of your sauna room, keeping the floor clear for benches and bathers. This is the most common mounting type for home saunas — wall-mounted heaters are compact, efficient, and fit saunas of nearly any size. Most residential saunas use a wall-mounted heater because floor-standing models take up bench space and are only necessary for very large or commercial rooms with massive stone capacity requirements. We carry wall-mounted heaters from Harvia, HUUM, Finlandia, and Saunum ranging from 1.7kW for small one-person saunas up to 11kW for large rooms. Free shipping on all heaters, 0% APR financing available.

Not sure which heater fits your sauna? Use our sauna heater sizing calculator to match the right kW rating to your room's cubic footage, or read our HUUM vs. Harvia comparison to decide between brands.

Harvia Wall-Mounted Heaters

Harvia is the world's largest sauna heater manufacturer (Finland). Their wall-mounted lineup covers every home sauna size from the smallest closet conversions to large family saunas.

KIP (4.5 / 6 / 8 kW) — Harvia's best-selling residential heater and the most popular wall-mounted sauna heater we carry. Stainless steel or black steel finish. Available with built-in knob controls or Xenio CX170 WiFi digital controller. Heats saunas from 84–425 cubic feet. The default recommendation for most home saunas. The Wall (6 / 8 kW) — Harvia's most affordable wall-mounted heater with built-in controls (no separate controller to buy). A straightforward, budget-friendly option for medium to large saunas. Stainless or black steel. Heats 170–425 cubic feet.

Spirit (6 / 8 kW) — Harvia's design-forward wall-mounted heater with a curved body that cradles rounded stones for an organic look. Pairs with Xenio WiFi controller. A visual step up from the KIP for buyers who want aesthetics alongside performance. Read: Spirit vs. HUUM DROP.

Vega Compact (1.7 / 1.9 / 3.5 kW) — The smallest Harvia heater. The 1.7kW and 1.9kW models are available in 120V versions that plug into a standard household outlet — no electrician or dedicated circuit needed. The only 120V option from Harvia, designed for very small saunas under 100 cubic feet. The 3.5kW version requires 240V.

HUUM Wall-Mounted Heaters

HUUM is an Estonian manufacturer known for award-winning minimalist design and large stone capacities that produce soft, enveloping steam.

DROP (4.5 / 6 / 7.5 / 9 kW) — HUUM's signature heater shaped like a water droplet. The most visually distinctive wall-mounted heater on the market. Holds up to 122 lbs of stones despite its compact size — significantly more than most wall heaters. Heats 106–530 cubic feet. UKU WiFi controller. Read: DROP review · DROP vs. HIVE.

CLIFF (6 / 9 / 10.5 kW) — A slim, flat-profile heater with the smallest safety distances of any HUUM model. Ideal for tight saunas where clearance between the heater and walls or benches is limited. UKU WiFi controller. Read: CLIFF vs. STEEL.

STEEL (6 / 9 / 10.5 kW) — Functionally identical to the CLIFF with the same slim profile and small safety distances, but with a different exterior finish. Choose whichever look matches your sauna interior.

CLIFF Mini / STEEL Mini (3.5 kW) — Compact versions of the CLIFF and STEEL for very small saunas. 240V.

CORE (6.5 / 9 / 11 kW) — HUUM's newest heater. A refined, compact design that blends into modern interiors. UKU WiFi controller.

Finlandia Wall-Mounted Heaters

Finlandia heaters are manufactured by Harvia in Finland under the Finlandia brand name for the North American market. Controls are sold separately (or choose the FLB with built-in controls).

FIN Series (3 / 4.5 / 6 / 8 kW) — Heater-only units covering saunas from 84–425 cubic feet. Industrial-grade stainless steel construction with triple-wall safety design. Available with -S stainless steel finish. Requires separate CX170, F1T, or F2T control.

FLB-30 (3 kW) — A 3kW heater with built-in control panel including one-hour timer and 8-hour pre-set. For saunas up to 130 cubic feet. The simplest Finlandia option — no separate control needed.

Saunum Wall-Mounted Heaters

Saunum is an Estonian manufacturer with patented Climate Equalizer technology that circulates air to eliminate the traditional hot-ceiling/cold-floor temperature gradient found in most saunas.

Saunum Air / Air L / Air Perfect — Wall-mounted heaters with built-in Climate Equalizer, digital controller, and WiFi. Saunum's technology mixes air within the sauna to create even temperatures from floor to ceiling — your feet and head are the same temperature. The Air Perfect is the premium model with Himalayan salt therapy integration. A fundamentally different approach to sauna heating.

Wall-Mounted vs. Floor-Standing: Which Do You Need?

For most home saunas, a wall-mounted heater is the right choice. They save floor space, are easier to install, and cover saunas up to roughly 530 cubic feet (the HUUM DROP 9kW maximum). Choose a floor-standing heater if your sauna exceeds 500 cubic feet, you want a visual centerpiece with massive stone capacity (like the HUUM HIVE with 529 lbs of stones), or you're building a commercial/spa sauna that needs the thermal mass of a large floor unit (like the Harvia Cilindro or Virta Pro).

Frequently Asked Questions

Which wall-mounted heater should I buy?

For most home saunas (100–425 cu ft), the Harvia KIP is the best all-around value with proven reliability. If you prioritize design aesthetics and steam quality, the HUUM DROP is the premium alternative with its sculptural shape and superior stone capacity. If your sauna has tight clearances, the HUUM CLIFF or STEEL have the smallest safety distances. If you want even temperatures throughout the room, the Saunum Air solves the hot-head/cold-feet problem. For a budget option, the Harvia The Wall is the most affordable with built-in controls. Use our heater sizing calculator first to determine what kW you need, then choose your brand.

Do I need a 120V or 240V heater?

Most wall-mounted sauna heaters require 240V and a dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician. The only 120V option is the Harvia Vega Compact in 1.7kW and 1.9kW versions — these plug into a standard household outlet but are limited to very small saunas under 100 cubic feet. If your sauna is larger than that, plan for 240V electrical work.

What's included — heater only vs. package?

Wall-mounted heaters are available in two formats: heater only (just the heater unit) or complete package (heater + controller + stones, ready to install). Complete packages are the better value for new builds. Heater-only is for replacements or if you already own a compatible controller. Harvia KIP packages include Xenio WiFi + stones. HUUM packages include UKU WiFi + stones. Finlandia FIN heaters always require a separately purchased control. Browse our complete heater packages for the best deals.

What are the safety clearance requirements?

Every wall-mounted heater has minimum distance requirements from the heater to surrounding walls, benches, and ceiling. These distances vary by model — the HUUM CLIFF/STEEL have the smallest clearances, while most Harvia models require standard spacing. Always check the product page for exact clearance specifications and follow them precisely. Inadequate clearance is a fire hazard and will void your warranty.

Can I add WiFi control to my wall-mounted heater?

Most modern wall-mounted heaters support WiFi control. HUUM heaters use the UKU WiFi controller (included in packages, available separately). Harvia KIP and Spirit pair with the Xenio CX170 WiFi controller (included in WiFi packages). Saunum heaters have WiFi built in. Finlandia FIN heaters work with the CX170 for WiFi capability. The Harvia The Wall and KIP with built-in knob controls do not support WiFi — choose the WiFi package version instead. See our WiFi-controlled heaters collection for all models with app control.
