Standard low EMF infrared saunas use carbon fiber heating panels that produce 6–10 mG — already far lower than older ceramic heating elements and well within established safety guidelines. Ultra-low EMF models use the same carbon panel technology but with additional EMF reduction engineering: enhanced shielding around panel wiring, optimized panel geometry that partially cancels opposing electromagnetic fields, and increased separation between heating elements and the seating surface. Both tiers are safe for daily use. The practical differences come down to measured EMF exposure and available features:

Red light therapy: Many Elite models integrate red light therapy panels that aren't available on the standard versions. EMF is measured in milligauss (mG) using a gauss meter at 6–8 inches from the heating panel surface — the distance where your body sits during a session.
