Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas

Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas

Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas — Every Wavelength in One Unit

Full spectrum infrared saunas emit near, mid, and FAR infrared wavelengths simultaneously, giving you the broadest range of therapeutic coverage available in any infrared sauna. Instead of choosing between wavelength types, you get all three working at different tissue depths in a single session. We carry full spectrum models from Dynamic Saunas, Golden Designs, Maxxus, Finnmark Designs, and Wizzisaunas — many with built-in red light therapy. Every order ships free with 0% APR financing.

What Makes Full Spectrum Different

Most affordable infrared saunas are FAR infrared only, meaning they emit wavelengths in the 5.6–15 micron range. FAR infrared is excellent for core heating and heavy sweating, but it's only one piece of the spectrum. Full spectrum saunas add two more wavelength bands:

Near infrared (0.7–1.4 microns) — The shortest wavelengths, closest to visible red light. Near infrared is absorbed at the skin surface and just below, making it most relevant for skin health, cell renewal, and wound healing. This is the same wavelength range used in many red light therapy panels.

Mid infrared (1.4–5.6 microns) — Penetrates deeper than near infrared, reaching into joints, muscles, and soft tissue. Mid infrared is associated with improved circulation and pain relief in deeper structures. This wavelength is the hardest to find in standalone panels, which is one reason full spectrum saunas are popular — they're the most practical way to get mid infrared exposure.

FAR infrared (5.6–15 microns) — The longest wavelengths and the deepest penetration (about 1.5 inches into the body). FAR infrared raises your core temperature most effectively, producing the heaviest sweat response. This is the workhorse wavelength for detoxification and cardiovascular benefits.

Full Spectrum vs. FAR Infrared — Which Should You Buy?

FAR infrared saunas are a great choice if your primary goal is deep sweating, core heating, and cardiovascular benefits at a lower price point. FAR-only models from Dynamic and Maxxus deliver excellent performance for their cost.

Full spectrum saunas cost more but give you the complete wavelength range. Choose full spectrum if you want the broadest therapeutic coverage, if skin health and joint pain relief are priorities alongside deep sweating, or if you simply want the most advanced infrared technology available. Our detailed comparison guide breaks down the differences in depth.

Full Spectrum Saunas With Red Light Therapy

Many of our full spectrum models include built-in red light therapy panels that emit visible red light (630–660nm) and near-infrared (810–850nm) alongside the infrared heating panels. This adds targeted photobiomodulation — a proven technology for collagen production, muscle recovery, and skin rejuvenation — on top of the full spectrum infrared heat. Dynamic's Full Spectrum and Elite lines, Maxxus S-Line Full Spectrum models, Golden Designs Reserve Edition saunas, and Finnmark Designs all include red light therapy as standard. See our guide on the best infrared saunas with red light therapy or learn about adding red light to your existing sauna.

Full Spectrum Brands We Carry

Dynamic Saunas — Dynamic's full spectrum line features PureTech™ near-zero EMF carbon panels paired with near infrared heat emitters, all built from Canadian hemlock. The Gracia FS (1–2 person) is one of the most compact full spectrum saunas available and includes red light therapy plus a removable bench for standing or yoga. The Martin FS (1–2 person) is another compact option with red light. The Santiago FS (2-person) and Córdoba FS (2-person) offer more room for two-person sessions, the Lugano FS (3-person) is the mid-size family option, and the Vila Grande FS (4-person) is the largest full spectrum Dynamic available. All include red light therapy (662.7nm) and chromotherapy lighting as standard.

Golden Designs — Golden Designs offers full spectrum infrared in two distinct formats. Their Reserve Edition infrared saunas feature near-zero EMF full spectrum panels, red light therapy, and a built-in Himalayan salt bar — available in 1–2 person, 2-person, 3-person, 3-person corner, and 4-person configurations. Their hybrid sauna line combines full spectrum infrared panels with a Harvia traditional electric heater in a single cabin, giving you the option of infrared heat, traditional steam, or both. Hybrid models with red light therapy include the indoor Toledo (6-person) and Soria (3-person), and outdoor options like the Karlstad (6-person), Visby (3-person), and Nora (2-person).

Maxxus Saunas — Maxxus offers full spectrum infrared in two series. The S-Line Full Spectrum models are built from Pacific Cedar and pair PureTech™ near-zero EMF carbon panels with near infrared heat emitters plus red light therapy — available in 2-person and 3-person sizes. The M-Series Full Spectrum models are constructed from Canadian Red Cedar and come in 2-person, 3-person, and 3-person corner configurations. All Maxxus full spectrum saunas maintain near-zero EMF standards.

Finnmark Designs — Premium full spectrum infrared saunas with Nordic design, ultra low EMF panels, and high-end construction. The FD-KN002 (2-person) and FD-KN001 (1-person) are dedicated full spectrum models with red light therapy. Finnmark also makes the FD-KN003 Hybrid and FD-KN004 Trinity (2-person) and FD-KN005 Trinity (4-person) that combine full spectrum infrared with a traditional electric heater and red light therapy.

Wizzisaunas — The Wizzisaunas 909MX is a 1-person full spectrum indoor infrared sauna with near-zero EMF panels and medical-grade red and blue light therapy — one of the few models on the market to include both red and blue light wavelengths alongside full spectrum infrared heating.

EMF Levels

Full spectrum saunas from the brands in our catalog target ultra low or near-zero EMF levels. Dynamic's full spectrum line achieves near-zero EMF (under 2 mG at 2–3 inches from the panels), Maxxus full spectrum models maintain near-zero EMF standards, Golden Designs Reserve Edition saunas use PureTech™ near-zero EMF panels, and Finnmark targets ultra low EMF (under 3 mG). For a full breakdown of what these ratings mean, see our low vs. ultra low vs. near zero EMF guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is full spectrum infrared worth the extra cost over FAR only?

It depends on your priorities. If you mainly want deep sweating and core heating, a quality FAR infrared sauna does that well at a lower price. Full spectrum adds near and mid wavelengths that target skin, joints, and soft tissue at different depths — benefits you won't get from FAR alone. If you want the most complete infrared experience and budget allows, full spectrum is the better long-term investment.

What's the difference between full spectrum and red light therapy?

Full spectrum refers to the infrared heating wavelengths (near, mid, FAR) that warm your body. Red light therapy uses visible red and near-infrared LEDs at specific wavelengths (typically 630–660nm and 810–850nm) for photobiomodulation — a targeted cellular therapy, not heating. Many full spectrum saunas include both systems, but they serve different functions. Learn more in our infrared vs. red light therapy guide.

Do full spectrum saunas need special wiring?

Most 1–2 person full spectrum saunas plug into a standard 120V household outlet. Larger models may require a dedicated 120V/20A circuit or 240V wiring. Always check the specific product's electrical requirements. See our electrical requirements guide for details.

Which full spectrum sauna has the best red light therapy?

Finnmark Designs includes medical-grade Spectrum Red Light therapy (650nm) as standard across their full spectrum and hybrid lineup. Dynamic's Full Spectrum models integrate red light therapy (662.7nm) into every unit, and Maxxus S-Line Full Spectrum saunas also include red light as standard. If red light is a top priority, any of these full spectrum models deliver built-in coverage — or you can add a standalone sauna-rated red light panel for even more intensity.

Can I upgrade a FAR infrared sauna to full spectrum?

Not easily — the heater panels themselves are different. FAR panels only emit FAR wavelengths, so you can't convert them to full spectrum by changing settings. However, you can add standalone red light therapy panels to any sauna for near-infrared LED exposure, which covers part of what makes full spectrum valuable. For the full near + mid + FAR experience, a purpose-built full spectrum sauna is the way to go.
