Understanding Your Sauna Delivery

Before we ship your sauna, our friendly customer service team will contact you with all the shipment details and discuss any unique delivery needs, such as tricky property access that could lead to extra costs. For your convenience, we've summarized the delivery process below to keep you well-informed and ready for your sauna's arrival!

Types of Shipments

Smaller Shipments (LTL - Less-Than-Truckload): Commonly used for small to medium-sized saunas, ensuring secure transportation without requiring a full truckload.

Flatbed Truck Delivery: For larger sauna cabins, these expansive trucks accommodate significant dimensions and weight.

The Packaging

Your eagerly awaited sauna kit will be expertly packaged and securely delivered on one or two pallets, depending on its size, ensuring its integrity and safety throughout the transit process.

Scheduling Your Delivery

We make sure your sauna arrives when it's most convenient for you! Every sauna shipment requires a pre-arranged delivery appointment. Once your sauna arrives at a shipping terminal near your location, the carrier will contact you to schedule your delivery. This means your sauna will never just randomly appear at your location; you'll always be informed and integrated into the delivery timeline.

What to Expect at the Time of Delivery

• Liftgate Service: No need for heavy lifting! The delivery driver will use the liftgate service to lower the pallet(s) safely to ground level, ensuring an effortless offloading process for you.

• Curbside Delivery: The standard delivery protocol is to leave the sauna kit at a curbside location. It's important to note that standard delivery does not include carrying the shipment to your door.

Post-Delivery Steps

1. Documentation: Document the unboxing process with photographs. This can be instrumental if any disputes regarding damages arise. Let us know immediately if you see any damage on the packaging.

2. Inspect: Once unboxed, thoroughly inspect the sauna for any potential damages and verify that all components are present. Spot any issues? Contact us immediately!

3. Assembly: Using the manufacturer's guide, begin the setup. Depending on the sauna kit, you may need to hire an installer.

4. Testing: After assembly, power up the sauna. Check its controls, temperature, and ensure all components function seamlessly.

Important: Oversized Sauna Delivery

Due to the size and length of this Dundalk sauna's shipping crate, standard liftgate service is not available for this shipment. The sauna will arrive by freight truck, and you are responsible for arranging a safe way to unload the crate from the truck.

How Do I Unload My Sauna?

Most customers choose one of the following options:

1. Rent a Forklift: This is one of the most common options. If using a forklift, fork extensions are required because of the size of the sauna crate. The crate requires lifting from the narrow end using appropriately sized equipment (tell the rental company the crate size and weight and let them know that it must be picked up from the narrow end). Not sure where to rent a forklift. 2. Hire a Tilt-Bed / Tilt Tow Truck: Another option is to arrange for a local tilt-bed tow truck to pick up the sauna crate from the freight terminal and deliver it to your property.  They slide it off the truck bed, on to your street or driveway.

3. Pick Up From the Freight Terminal: You can arrange to pick up the sauna directly from the local freight terminal using a suitable truck or trailer. They will set the crate on your truck/trailer with a forklift.  You will need to safely strap it down for transport with heavy duty ratchet straps.

4. Hand Unloading: In some cases, the freight carrier may allow a crew to unload the sauna components from the crate while it is still on the truck. This must be approved by the freight carrier in advance and should not be assumed to be available.  Some carriers do not allow this for liability reasons.

The freight carrier and driver are not responsible for unloading an oversized Dundalk sauna crate.

Scheduling Your Delivery

Once your sauna reaches the freight terminal serving your area, the carrier will typically contact you to schedule a delivery appointment.

When scheduling your appointment, let the carrier know how you plan to unload the sauna and confirm any delivery details with them. You should have your forklift, equipment, or other unloading method ready on the scheduled delivery day.

It is important to respond to the freight carrier promptly. Delays in scheduling or accepting your shipment can result in additional storage or redelivery fees.

What to Expect on Delivery Day

Your sauna will be delivered by a commercial freight truck to an accessible curbside location or the end of your driveway. Standard freight delivery does not include moving the sauna onto your property, into your driveway, or to the final installation location.

Because this crate is oversized, the driver will not be able to lower it to the ground using a standard liftgate. Your arranged unloading equipment or service will be used to remove the crate from the truck.

Property Access

Please make sure your delivery location can safely accommodate a large commercial freight truck. Narrow roads, low-hanging trees or power lines, steep grades, weight restrictions, gated communities, islands, ferries, or other difficult-access locations may require special delivery arrangements or additional freight charges. 

If you have concerns about access to your property, please contact us before your sauna ships so we can help you determine the best delivery option.

Inspecting Your Shipment

1. Take Photos: We strongly recommend taking photos of the crate before and during unloading.

2. Inspect the Crate: Check the exterior of the shipment for visible damage before signing the delivery paperwork.

3. Note Any Damage: If the crate arrives open or damaged, photograph the damage and clearly note it on the carrier's Bill of Lading or delivery receipt before signing.

4. Inspect the Components: After unloading and opening the crate, inspect the sauna components for damage or missing items. If you find an issue, contact us immediately.

After Delivery

Dundalk saunas arrive as kits and require assembly at the installation location. Once the crate has been safely unloaded, the individual sauna components can be moved to your prepared installation area.
